A 31-year-old Norwood man was killed this morning around 6:30 after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Pleasant Street.

Police have not released the man’s name pending notification of his next of kin. However, police said the driver stopped immediately and the incident is under investigation.

Norwood Police, the State Police crash reconstruction unit, and District Attorney Michael Morissey’s office are all assisting in the investigation.

Norwood Police and the Norwood Fire Department responded to the scene. A paramedic from the fire department declared the man dead at that time.

No additional information about what caused the accident or if any charges would be made was available.
