The police log: vandalism at Ford car lot; marijuana at Coakley School
Here are some incidents reported to the Norwood police this week. A full list is available at police headquarters, 137 Nahatan St.
On Jan. 29 at 9:12 p.m., Lost Prevention at CVS Pharmacy on Nahatan Street reported they had one person in custody suspected of shoplifting. Police responded and arrested Mariam Negussie, 23, of Dorchester, on charges of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
On Jan. 31 at 11 a.m., an employee at Jack Madden Ford on Boston-Providence Highway reported vandalism at the lot. A report of the damage was taken.
Then at 4:57 p.m., an employee at Bikerz Finest on Boston-Providence Highway walked into the station to report that a number of items were missing from the business. Police took a report of the incident.
On Feb. 1 at 6:58 a.m., a caller near Everett Street and Boston Providence Highway reported a traffic tie-up in the area. Police responded and reported the same. Three citations were issued for unsafe lane changes.
Then at 11:48 a.m. that day, an officer responded to Coakley Middle School on Washington Street after an employee at the school caught a student with marijuana. Officers took a report and spoke with the student. No arrests were made.
Later at 6:18 p.m., an employee at Cadillac Village of Norwood on Boston-Providence Highway reported a man lying down on the lawn. Norwood Fire took the man to Norwood Hospital.
