Norwood Hospital will hold its 10th annual 4-mile road race and walk Sept. 15 to kick off the town's annual "Norwood Day."

The hospital hopes the event will help create a sense of pride throughout the town and be an opportunity for families to come together.

“We are so pleased to mark the 10-year anniversary of both Norwood Day and the hospital road race,” Emily Holliman, president of Norwood Hospital, said in a statement. “We invite runners and walkers from around the area to join us for this annual event in support of our town and this great day for the whole family.”

Registration will run from 7 to 8:20 a.m. the day of the race in front of the hospital and via email from now until Sept. 14. The race will start at 9 a.m. and runs through a mostly residential course and past Norwood High School.

The first 150 registered adult runners will receive long-sleeved shirts. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall, and to the top male and female finishers in several age categories.

The adult entry fee is $25 by Sept. 7 and $30 starting Sept. 8. Running clubs may enter with at least five runners for $20 a person.

Registration forms are available via email at NHRoadRace@Steward.org or by calling 781-278-6004.
