Here’s a quick look at events and happenings taking place in Norwood this week.
Meetings: The Norwood Board of Selectmen meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. has been canceled. No other meetings are scheduled for this week.
Farmers Market: There’s still time to catch the farmer’s market on the Town Green on Nahatan Street. The market runs every Tuesday from noon to 6 p.m.
Patriots Tickets Raffle: The Norwood VFW Post 2452 is holding a raffle this weekend for tickets to a regular season Patriots game and a party before the game. Another prize is $500. Tickets are $100 apiece and can be purchased at the VFW post, 193 Dean St.
Scrabble: The Morrill Memorial Library will hold a Scrabble night Tuesday evening for adults and children. Adults will play from 7 to 9 p.m. and children in grades three and above can play from 7 to 8 p.m.
Sneakers Fundraiser: The Norwood High School girls volleyball team is still collecting old sneakers to turn in for money to buy warmups. Stop by the corner of Broadway and Nahatan streets all day Thursday with old shoes to donate.
Rummage Sale: Grace Episcopal Church, 150 Chapel St., will hold a rummage sale Friday and Saturday. The Friday event starts at 2 p.m. and the Saturday sale starts at 9 a.m.
Wine Tasting: Broadway Liquors, 50 Broadway St., will hold a free wine tasting Saturday at the store starting at 3:30 p.m.
Norwood Theatre Opening: The Norwood Theatre will hold a re-opening celebration Saturday and Sunday. As part of the event, there will be two showings of the 1964 movie "Mary Poppins" at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are free and available on a first come, first served basis.
