Steel Art, a company that designs and manufactures architectural signage products, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new location in Norwood on Oct. 11.

The company recently moved its business and 53 employees from its location in Allston. Since then it has hired 17 additional employees and is continuing to expand its workforce, a news release said.

Owners, John Borell and Stewart Dobson, said they were attracted to Norwood is part because of the town’s Economic Development Committee’s offer of tax increment financing.

Due to the tax breaks, the Steel Art was able to invest in a building at 10 Dean St. that was abandoned for almost 10 years.

The Oct. 11 ribbon cutting will include local politicians, members of the Norwood Economic Development Committee, and residents. It will take place Oct. 11 at 10 a.m.
