Norwood library offering several December events, workshops

The Norwood library has a number of events and workshops scheduled for the month of December. Here’s a look at a few and for more information contact the reference desk at 781-769-0200, extension 110 or 222.

Concert: Classical pianist and composer Alfred Watson will perform selections from "The Nutcracker Suite" at a free concert Sunday at 3 p.m. He will also talk about the story behind each scene and how the original ballet was created.

E-Books: Technology librarian Brian Samek will teach Norwood patrons how to reserve and check out titles from the library’s e-book collection. The workshop will cover the various e-book formats and how to use different reading devices. Participantes should have an account at https://library.minlib.net/patroninfo and class size is limited to 15. Register by calling or stopping by the reference desk.

Social Media: Sandra Coswatter, social networking consultant and institute manager at the Sloan Consortium, will discuss how to use Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn to expand and enhance personal and professional networks.

Film Screening: Together Yes, a Norwood-based sustainability nonprofit will host a screening and discussion of the documentary “Bag it: Is Your Life too Plastic” Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.
