Norwood Town Meeting members will meet tonight at 7:30 at Norwood High School to discuss 22 articles on this year’s Special Town Meeting warrant.
At the forefront of the conversation -- the town's fire department.
Six of the articles this year are to approve payments due and one asks the town to rescind its "strong chief law" and make General Manager John Carroll the direct supervisor of the department.
Tonight's meeting comes a few weeks after selectmen, who have clashed with Fire Chief Michael Howard in recent years, removed Howard as fire chief.
Another article asks Town Meeting to approve funding a committee to study a proposal to build a town-owned ice rink.
A copy of the warrant is available on the town’s website, www.norwood-ma.gov and Norwood High School is located at 245 Nichols St.
