Universal Technical Institute in Norwood will host a “Connecting Education with Job Opportunities” skill summit Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.
The event is a collaborative effort between educators, employers, and policy makers. Organizers hope will help identify the issues with skill gaps, a news release about the event said.
Discussions will focus on labor policy, trends, and challenges in the local job market. Participants will also discuss demographic factors and gaps specific to the Massachusetts skilled labor force.
The event will be moderated by Shirley Leung, business editor at The Boston Globe.
Panelists will include the following people:

-- Edward Bouquillon, superintendent-director of Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School District

-- Beverly Leclerc, manager, Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems
-- Bill Mergendahl, CEO, Professional Ambulance and Pro EMS Center for MEDICS
