Peabody police arrested a Peabody man after he allegedly assaulted another man with a skateboard, according to the Peabody Police Department log.

At about 10:24 Saturday morning, police responded to a call from a man who said he was assaulted at Riverside Community Care on Andover Street, the log says.

Two men, who know each other, allegedly became involved in a fight when Christopher Thomas, 24, of Peabody swung a skateboard at Jeramie Crane, 24, of Peabody, said Peabody police Captain Dennis Bonaiuto.

Police arrested Thomas for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, Bonaiuto said.

Crane was transported to Lahey Clinic by Atlantic Ambulance for injuries sustained from the alleged attack. Thomas was arraigned today in Peabody District Court for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and Crane was arraigned for aggravated assault and battery charges, Bonaiuto said.
