Peabody teen and Lynn man injured in Route 1 crash in Peabody
A 15-year-old Peabody girl and a 19-year-old man from Lynn were injured today when the car they were riding in crashed on the northbound interchange between Route 1 and Interstate 95 in Peabody, State Police said.
The names of the victims of the Peabody crash were not released. State Police said the Lynn man was the driver and the girl was the passenger. Both were rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The man apparently lost control of his Chevrolet Malibu and then slammed into two sections of guardrail before rolling over, State Police said. Excessive speed may have contributed to the crash, State Police said, while adding the investigation is continuing.
The crash took place around 7:45 a.m.
