City Council panel to hold meeting Oct. 13 in Peabody
A City Council panel next Thursday, Oct. 13 will hear a report on the results of a recently completed study into the possible consolidation of city departments and other initiatives to improve efficiencies. Financial Advisory Associates, of Buzzards Bay, which prepared the study, will outline its recommendations at the 6:30 p.m. meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on Municipal Consolidation and Efficiency.
The study looked at all city departments, including the schools and the Municipal Light Plant, according to city clerk Timothy Spanos. Also Thursday, the council Finance Committee, meeting at 6:15 p.m., will take up a proposed $569,400 transfer to fund the cost of a complete revaluation this fiscal year of the city’s residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Tyler Technologies would carry out the revaluation. The committee could report out the transfer request that night to the full council, which meets at 7:30 p.m.
At its meeting, the council will hold a hearing on a request by Constantine Scrivanos to amend the special permit for the Dunkin’ Donuts he owns at 527 Lowell St. The amendment would allow for a second drive-through window at the restaurant that would share the driveway of an existing drive-through window. The council will resume a hearing into a request by Lowell Street CVS, Peabody, LLC to amend a special permit it received in 2009 to locate a CVS at 530-532 Lowell St. The amendment would allow for modifications to the plan relating to the location of the building on the site, parking, and traffic circulation.
