Peabody police log, July 8-9
The following was taken from the Peabody Police Department logs for Sunday and Monday:
Sunday, July 8:
1:09 a.m. Francisco Mercado, of 12 Belvidere Place in Lynn, was arrested for OUI - liquor (second offense), marked lanes violation, and no inspection sticker.
2:47 a.m. Edward Colameta, of 28 Bay Road in Revere, was arrested for OUI - liquor and marked lanes violation.
2:58 a.m. Police responded to the 7-11 at 100 Lynn Street. A store clerk reports a male party entered 7-11 in his underwear and tried to fight him. Male party fled in a dark vehicle with another passenger. There was a strong language barrier.
11:13 a.m. A caller reported finding a bag of drug paraphernalia in his backyard at 1 Park Square.
12:13 p.m. Kathleen Piracini, of 953 Shirley Street in Winthrop, was arrested for larceny over $250 for shoplifting from J.C. Penny at the Northshore Mall, 210J Andover Street. Party also had outstanding warrant.
2:54 p.m. Police responded to a report of larceny at Cohen?s Fashion Optical at the Northshore Mall, 210C Andover Street. The clerk stated that two dark-skinned males stole his IPhone, valued at $400, from behind the counter. He also stated that they stole 3 pair of sunglasses valued at $900.
9:43 p.m. A woman reported a man with a cane in his 60s, who appeared to be intoxicated, stole her wristlet at the Sylvan Street Grille, 12 Sylvan Street. The man approached a second woman for cash, before heading toward the 99 Restaurant in Danvers.
Monday, July 9:
9:16 a.m. A resident of 22 Buford Road reported vandalism to her property, and also believes some of her mail has gone missing recently.
11:14 a.m. Police took a report of a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle parked at 26 Beacon Boulevard.
11:43 a.m. A party reported vandalism to a residence at 3 Tumelty Road.
1:26 p.m. Police responded to a hit and run accident at Peabody Library, 82 Main Street.
