The following was taken from the Peabody Police Department logs for Wednesday and Thursday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:
Wednesday, Oct. 17
2:01 p.m. Party reports that his vehicle ran out of gas on Andover Street and it was gone when he returned to get it. Tow was not authorized by Peabody or state police, stolen vehicle report filled out. Party called back around 3:37 p.m. to report that he was able to locate the vehicle approximately 100 yards past the Route 128 ramp. It appears that the vehicle was pushed out of the way by an unknown party.
2:27 p.m. Caller reports that tiles have fallen in the middle of Wilson Square.
3:01 p.m. Police removed a syringe from the area of Brown's Pond on Lynn Street.
3:22 p.m. Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Andover Street. Kayee Law, of 81 Bartholomew Street, will be summonsed to court and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and a marked lanes violation.
3:44 p.m. Police responded to a report of larceny at a home on Lowell Street. Party reports jewelry missing from home. Officer reports that there was no forced entry to the home and it is unknown how long the jewelry has been missing for.
5:35 p.m. Police responded to a report of a syringe found in a backyard on Northend Street. One needle was recovered and will be disposed of properly.
5:42 p.m. Police responded to a report of larceny at a home on Worcester Road. Officer states that while the residents were on vacation, several items were taken (Xbox, chain saw, laptop, Bose entertainment system). There may be a possible suspect.
8:47 p.m. Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run at St. Vasilios Church on Paleologos Street
11:25 p.m. Seranor Baptiste, of 516 Pleasant Street, Malden, was arrested and will be charged with driving with no inspection sticker, and driving with a suspended license.
Thursday, Oct. 18
7:56 a.m. Caller reports that his vehicle was vandalized sometime overnight.
9:17 a.m. School officer was called by Peabody Veterans Memorial High School regarding a student with a hand injury. Student stated he was approached by someone while waiting for the bus, and had to punch the person. Officer will follow up with the incident.
11:30 a.m. Caller reports that threats were made to the staff at the Lakeside School. Reporting party told the officer that a woman came to the facility to visit an inmate, and when she was denied access she threatened to come back with her "boo" and "shoot up the place." Officer will document the incident.
