Peabody police log, Oct. 8-9

The following was taken from the Peabody Police Department logs for Monday and Tuesday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

Monday, Oct. 8

12:25 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Lowell Street. Shannon C. Dunn, of 59 King Street, will be summonsed to court and charged with driving with a suspended license. Dean J. Hennessey, of 272 Lowell Street, will be summonsed to court and charged with driving without a license and failure to yield at an intersection.

9:44 a.m. Caller reports party walking on I-95 North. State police escorted the party off of the highway.

10:58 a.m. Party reports that a child found a hypodermic needle on Aborn Street. The needle was lodged in the child's shoe. Officer transported the juvenile back to his residence, where he was checked out by Atlantic Ambulance. All in order, no medical transport.

11:14 a.m. Police responded to a report of assault on Elliott Place. Joseph Tizol was arrested and will be charged with assault and battery, and Veda Nays was arrested and will be charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

2:14 p.m. Caller reports that he struck a pedestrian with his motor vehicle on Summit Street. Reporting party spoke to the pedestrian and exchanged information with the person, the pedestrian did not want an ambulance to respond.

5:20 p.m. David F. Sullivan, of 1 Pond Street, Winthrop, was arrested and will be charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise (third offense).

6:09 p.m. Police removed a syringe from Lynnfield Street.

6:23 p.m. Police took a report of a past hit-and-run on Essex Lane.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

9:21 a.m. A female caller reported her fiancé missing. Party found in Pennsylvania.

11:21 a.m. Peabody Municipal Light Plant requested an officer stand by while they investigate a possible theft of electricity on Lake Shore Drive.
