A Lynn man has been arrested and will face charges for armed robberies in Salem, Peabody and Beverly, according to police in each town.

Dennis Porter, 43, of Greatwoods Road, was arrested in Peabody by police there on a warrant issued by the Essex Superior Court for violation of probation.

Peabody police say Porter will be charged with robbing the Town Variety convenience store on Central Street in the city on Sunday night.

Police in Beverly plan to charge Porter with the robbery of a Sunoco gas station on Brimbal Avenue on Monday night.

He will also face a charge in the robbery of a 7-11 store on Norman Street in Salem on November 19, according to Salem police.

Porter was arrested after what Peabody police detective Michael Crane called an "extensive and intense investigation" that brought in several police departments and the Essex County Sheriff's Department.

Peabody police also arrested Glenn E. Roderick of Peabody on a warrant Monday afternoon and charged him with a single count of armed robbery in connection with the hold-up of the Town Variety convenience store.

Police said that they believe Roderick was the get-away driver in the robbery.

Roderick, 41, of 18 Elm Street, Apt. 2, was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail by Judge Matthew Nestor at his arraignment in Peabody District Court on Tuesday.
