Peabody police log, Nov. 17-18

The following was taken from the Peabody Police Department logs for Saturday and Sunday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

Saturday, Nov. 17

3:28 a.m. Police responded to a report of an intoxicated female in a backyard on Ethel Avenue. Transported to Salem via Atlantic Ambulance.

6:11 a.m. Police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of Murray Street. Two reports of multiple gunshots in the area. Area checked, sounds like it's closer to Middleton. Middleton police will send a car to River Street area to see if outdoor range is in use.

11:17 a.m. Female would like to report damage to her motor vehicle at the Northshore Mall. Buick LeSabre had drivers' side window smashed out. Nothing appears to be taken.

11:48 a.m. Police responded to a single-car rollover on Route 128. State police will handle the incident.

1:22 p.m. Chester F. Bowen III, of 3 Arrowhead Trail, Ipswich, was arrested and will be charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

3:20 p.m. Calling party reports seeing a male party dragging a girl against her will down Tremont Street along with two other male parties. Officer spoke to all involved parties, including the girl's mother, who reports the men were just assisting her in getting her daughter to return home. All parties deny any type of domestic. Female party left with her mother without any further incident.

3:27 p.m. Police responded to a report of a burglary on Holten Street.

4:35 p.m. Police assisted the fire department with a lawn mower that had caught on fire on Butternut Avenue.

6:55 p.m. Police responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Foster Street.

7:00 p.m. Police responded to a J.C. Penny at the Northshore Mall where a shoplifter was detained. Loss prevention will handle the incident at store level.

7:48 p.m. Police responded to a report of burglary at a residence on Lynnfield Street. Officer reports there was forced entry, multiple rooms were ransacked, and thousands of dollars in items were taken.

9:34 p.m. Police responded to a report of a fight in the roadway on Central Street. Officer reports it was a road rage incident turned minor motor vehicle accident.

11:33 p.m. Police responded to a report of larceny on Sachem Road.

Sunday, Nov. 18

12:36 a.m. Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Harris Street. Report of party looking into car. Suspect described as white male, about 6-feet tall, officers checked the area but were unable to locate.

1:25 a.m. Police responded to a report of graffiti on Cross Street.

2:31 a.m. Party reports male party knocked on a door on Nancy Avenue asking to come in. Described as teenage male wearing baseball cap and jacket, and carrying an orange book. Officer was unable to locate the party in the area.
