The following was taken from the Peabody Police Department logs for Saturday and Sunday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:
Saturday, Nov. 24
12:27 a.m. Police responded to a report of a group of women outside arguing on Highland Street. Reporting party stated group left in unknown vehicle. Area checked, all appears quiet and secure.
6:41 a.m. Police responded to a report of graffiti at Peabody Bottle and Can Return on Caller Street.
7:53 a.m. Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Caller Street.
9:01 a.m. Officer spoke to a homeowner on Wallis Ann Road who reports that on November 18 they held an open house and $1,500 was taken from the residence. Officer obtained copy of sign-in sheet.
11:13 a.m. Police responded to a brush fire at TJ Maxx on Andover Street. Officer reports cigarette in the mulch, fire extinguished.
12:14 p.m. Calling party reports she saw a male party hitting a female party in the face/head with a can at Azorean Brotherhood of the Divine Holy Ghost on Howley Street. Officer spoke to victim who stated she and her friend were having an argument but that she is fine, nothing to report.
1:20 p.m. Ana DeAlmeida, of 23 Shamrock Street, will be summonsed to court for failure to display owner's name and driving without a license.
1:56 p.m. Joseph Marchesi, of 47 Lake Shore Road, was arrested and will be charged with breaking and entering, malicious destruction of property more than $250, and domestic assault.
2:56 p.m. Joseph Salvaggio, of 7 Pond View Road, will be summonsed to court and charged with assault and battery.
4:26 p.m. Elsa Mercedes, of 35 Tenney Street, Methuen, will be summonsed to court and charged with shoplifting.
4:47 p.m. Tatiana Buchanan, of 10 Ocean Avenue, Salem, will be summonsed to court and charged with shoplifting.
7:06 p.m. Officer reports growing sink hole in front McDonald's on Main Street. Officer rearranged traffic barrels to divert traffic around it.
11:53 p.m. Matthew Edward Coffey, of 38 Case Drive, Revere, was arrested and will be charged with two counts of domestic assault and battery, and two counts of wanton destruction of property more than $250.
Sunday, Nov. 25
5:16 a.m. Caller reports her daughter left the area of Newbury Street in a white Mercedes SUV with two flat tires after drinking this evening. Salem unit out with a vehicle on Main Street. Operator passed field sobriety test, the vehicle was left legally parked on Main Street and the operator was picked up by her mother.
11:01 a.m. Matthew Pereira, of 64 Butler Street, Salem, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
