The following was taken from the Peabody Police Department logs for Tuesday and Wednesday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:
Tuesday, December 11
2:13 p.m. Received a report of a person passed out by the railroad tracks by the post office on Wallis Street. Officer spoke with a male party and sent him on his way.
2:19 p.m. Sean Michael Brooks, of 67 Poplar Street, Danvers, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
2:32 p.m. Caller reports that the driver of a vehicle on Crane Avenue was smoking marijuana and passing it back and forth with her passenger. Reporting party believes she smelled the drug coming from the car. The officer stated that the vehicle was unoccupied and that there was no answer at the residence.
3:05 p.m. Report of a hit-and-run accident at the Northshore Mall. Officer stated that it was a parked moped that was hit and was leaking gas because it was on its side. It was picked up and a note was left for the owner to contact police.
4:56 p.m. Police responded to an ongoing neighbor dispute on Central Street.
5:09 p.m. Michael O. Burney, of 1 Herrick Road, was arrested and will be charged with driving with a suspended license.
6:08 p.m. Passer-by states that the traffic light in front of CVS on Main Street is staying red and not turning green. Reporting party stated that vehicles are driving through it and causing a traffic hazard. Fire department notified.
6:10 p.m. Report of a missing 3-year-old on foot near Margaret Road. Child has been missing for 10-15 minutes. Mother of the child called back and stated that her child was in the vehicle.
7:28 p.m. Detective confiscated Class D substance from a vehicle at the Northshore Mall, parties sent on their way.
7:38 p.m. Report of a shoplifter at Sears in the Northshore Mall. Sears loss prevention will handle on their own.
9:31 p.m. Troy L. Brewer, of 8 Donegal Road, was arrested on the basis of a warrant out of Chelsea District.
Wednesday, December 12
8:36 a.m. Caller on Walsh Avenue reports a suspicious man who hid a bag under a tree on her property, He appears to be going through the trash in the area. Officer located the person and confirmed that he is looking for cans and bottles.
8:55 a.m. Employee at Century Bank and Trust in Peabody Square would like to report a fraudulent check. U.S. treasury check cashed, suspect is on video. Officer will follow-up as needed.
10:19 a.m. Caller reports he was following a green Camry that was all over the road, felt the operator was a threat and managed to get the vehicle to pull over on Central Street. The caller took the other motorists keys. Officer checked out the operator and party will be taking a taxi back to Danvers.
11:01 a.m. Report of a motor vehicle fire on Pulaski Street. Officer reports he extinguished the fire.
11:42 a.m. Geronimo Espinal, of 19 Warren Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
