The city of Peabody is kicking off a favorite Irish holiday with its First Annual St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast and Roast benefiting Haven for Hunger, an organization that provides food to those in need in North Shore communities.

The event is being held on Saturday March 16 at 9 a.m. in the Frank L. Wiggin Auditorium at Peabody City Hall.

The breakfast event is open to the public for a cost of $30, and includes Irish music by “McGeney and Moore” and good-natured roasting of some of the city’s best known politicos, according to an announcement from the office of Mayor Edward Bettencourt earlier this week.

Those interested in attending the breakfast should send a check made payable to the City of Peabody by March 6, and and mail it to: St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast, City Hall, 24 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA 01960. Organizers are requesting residents to include the number of guests in their party.
