The Committee to Re-Elect Mayor Edward Bettencourt is hosting a summer picnic in support of the city's current leader.

After a full year in office, Bettencourt is running unopposed for a second term.

The event will be held at the Kennedy Field in West Peabody on Sunday August 11 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Attendees will be able to purchase food and drink, including hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, and ice cream. Live entertainment, children's activities, crafts, and face painting are planned.

In addition, a Giant Egg Toss Championship Challenge for all ages will conclude the festivities and the winner will receive a trophy from Bettencourt.

The event is open to the public. For more information call Debbie Ryan at 978-531-7961.
