A key section of Lowell Street in Peabody is set to be repaved beginning on Friday July 19.

Those traveling on the Lowell Street stretch from Forest Street to the intersection of Route 128 at North Shore Road will experience delays particularly during the morning and afternoon rush hour periods, according to a statement from the office of Mayor Edward Bettencourt.

Crews from the Department of Public Services are slated to start at 7 a.m. and wrap up at 4 p.m.

Motorists are advised to leave extra time for travel and seek alternate routes during the course of the project.

Those drivers who typically exit Route 128 by the Lowell Street exit are advised to seek an alternate route whenever possible.
