The following was submitted by the Lappin Foundation:

North Shore teens, prepare to be amazed at how much Modern Conversational Hebrew you’ll learn in only 4 surprisingly fun and easy Sunday evenings!  Are you total beginner? Can’t speak a word of Modern Hebrew?  This is the class for you!  The only prerequisite is a desire to learn and a sense of humor, no Hebrew reading skill is required.  Classes will meet on Sundays from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at Aviv Centers for Living, 240 Lynnfield Street in Peabody, March 2 – 23.

Elana Gerson, the instructor for the class, has won numerous awards for her 18+ years’ work with US Military linguists at the world-renowned Defense Language Institute.  Elana has extensive experience teaching adults, kids and teens in a variety of settings including Hebrew schools and camps.  Her unique and innovative immersion method combines Berlitz, Total Physical Response and other techniques  with the use of games, audio-visuals and laughter for classes that are guaranteed to be intensive, fun, and most of all, EFFECTIVE!

Hebrew in a Heartbeat is a free program of the Lappin Foundation, whose mission is enhancing Jewish identity across generations and is supported by CJP.  For more information or to sign-up for this program contact Susan Feinstein at 978-740-4431 or sfeinstein@lappinfoundation.org.
