Suspected arson with car fire on Revere Road in Quincy
A car was found in flames late Thursday night in a parking lot at 50 Revere Rd. in Quincy.
Police responded to a call at 11:19 p.m. that a 2004 gold Kia Otpima, parked near other cars, was engulfed in flames. When officers arrived, the rear driver's side door was open and flames were shooting out from the inside, police said.
According to police, an unknown witness said she observed a small fire smoldering inside the vehicle and called police. Within minutes, the car was fully engulfed, police said.
A white Nissan close to the burning car sustained some damage. In addition, a Jeep Wrangler parked farther away from the Kia was found to have a deep burn mark in the seat.
Police suspect that both cases are arson because the fires started inside the cars.
During the investigation, someone set a trash can on fire not far from Revere Road.
Police are interviewing people and may have a possible suspect.
