Quincy police are on the lookout for a man involved in an alleged assault on Safford Street last night.

According to police, a woman was walking by herself on the street coming home from the North Quincy T station at around 9:21 p.m. when man in his late 20s started walking toward her.

He was described as Indian, wearing a green T-shirt and khaki shorts, and with his hair parted to the side.

As the man passed her, he reached around, and grabbed her skirt and body.

Police said the woman spun around and hit him with a heavy bag, to which he responded, “What’d you do that for?”

The two went their separate ways. Police were unable to locate the suspect with the canine unit.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Quincy police.
