Evelin Valibayova was last seen leaving work at Area 4 restaurant in Cambridge on July 16, said Quincy Police Detective Leo Coppens. After midnight the same day, she texted a coworker saying she could not cover her shift on Monday because she was going on a business trip.
Her boyfriend contacted Quincy police the next day when he could not locate her.
Valibayova had recently put down $3,600 on an apartment in Brighton and was in the middle of moving between her two homes. When police searched the Quincy apartment, they found a mattress on the floor and personal documents, Coppens said.
“Her passport hasn’t been used,” he said. “Because we have it.”
Friends and family have not heard from Valibayova, and the tenants at the Brighton apartment she was moving into have not heard from her, either.
“The people we’ve talked to said this isn’t like her,” Coppens said. “That’s about all we know right now, and were treating it as a missing persons case.”
