Quincy-based DOVE Inc. (Domestic Violence Ended), which serves victims of domestic violence and provides emergency shelter in Norfolk County, announced that it will start this year’s Adopt-a-family program between Dec. 1 and 17.

Adopt-a-Family seeks to provide gifts for those families affected by domestic violence, many of whom are struggling in the winter months. Participants will be matched up with a family, each of whom has developed a “wish list” of basic necessities as well as fun items for themselves and their children.

This year, there are more families than ever looking for support, DOVE personnel said. With over 100(cq) families were served last year, DOVE is hoping even more communities and organizations come forward to support the growing need.
