Authorities are searching for a man accused of breaking into his ex-wife’s home on Christmas morning in Quincy, attacking her with a dangerous weapon and sexually assaulting her in front of one of her children, police said.
Michael Toldness, 40, of Mashpee, allegedly committed the break-in and assault at about 5 a.m. last Sunday, Quincy police said today in a statement. He fled the scene when one of the woman’s children woke up and witnessed the alleged assault, the statement said.
His last known address is 9 Beechwood Dr. in Mashpee, and authorities believe he is currently in that area, police said. A Quincy police dispatcher said Toldness was still at large as of 11 p.m. tonight.
He is believed to be driving a 2004 Dodge Ram pick-up truck with a cab on the back and a Massachusetts commercial plate with the registration P40741.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call Quincy Police Detective John Menz or Lieutenant Patrick Glynn of Quincy Police Department at 617-479-1212. Tipsters can also contact their local police departments.
Toldness is a white male standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 210 pounds, with green eyes and dark brown hair, according to a wanted poster released by Quincy police.
