Quincy’s Department of Planning and Community Development has again won the Audrey Nelson Community Development Achievement Award, the 16th award that the department won during Planning Director Dennis Harrington’s tenure.

The award was given through the National Community Development Association, and recognizes use of the Community Development Block Grant and “Home Investment Partnership” funds to meet the needs of families and neighborhoods.

The city won the award three years ago in its efforts transforming the former St.
Boniface Church into the Germantown Neighborhood Center, and this year will be recognized for its work transforming a former Granite Street church into five units of affordable housing.
