Over a year after Hollywood crews were in Quincy filming a Kevin James action/comedy movie, glimpses of the film are just beginning to surface.

The flick, called “Here Comes the Boom,” was filmed at the Old Quincy High School on Coddington Street.

The crumbling building, which is scheduled to be torn down after the New Quincy High School opened in 2010, perfectly sets the stage for the film, in which an ailing school community must somehow raise funding to save its arts programs.

In the film, Kevin James’s character must make enough money through Mixed Martial Arts fighting in order to save his school. Salma Hayek and Henry Winkler also star in the film.

In total, the city netted $114,000 in rental costs, both from Columbia’s use of the school, as well as Veterans Memorial Stadium and Coddington Hall, which were also used to film some scenes.

The movie is to be released sometime in the upcoming months.
