Mound Beach in Quincy was closed Tuesday after water tests done the previous day came back with a high bacteria count.
According to the city’s website, tests results for enterococci, a bacteria typically found in feces, were as high as 1,439 colony forming units in 100 milliliters of water.
Beaches are closed with the number of bacteria units in 100 ml of water is above 104.
The beach was closed to swimming and resampled today. Results should be available on Wednesday.
No other Quincy beaches have been closed this week. Testing at other sites ranged from 10 to 84 cfus per 100 ml.
