Police arrested a man accused of robbing another man Wednesday with a used syringe.
According to police, the victim, a homeless man in Quincy, said he was sitting on a bench on Hancock Street when the suspect approached him.
According to police, the suspect asked the victim if he was “holding,” which is terminology to ask if someone has drugs on him. When the victim said no, the suspect allegedly pulled a bloody syringe and threatened the man with it.
The victim gave the suspect $39, a cell phone, and several items of clothing he was carrying, and the suspect took off, police said.
Police located a man fitting the suspect’s description nearby. The victim positively identified the suspect.
Police also found a cell phone on the suspect that had allegedly been stolen from a nearby bar.
Ryan Lane, 34, from Charlestown was arrested and charged with armed robbery and larceny from a building.
