Quincy Medical Center has named Hingham resident Susan Takacs as its chief operating officer.

Most recently, the Indiana University graduate, who also holds a master's in business administration from the University of Notre Dame, worked with Health Management Associates Inc., serving as the chief operating officer for East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Ga.

In the past, she has also worked as administrator at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Melbourne, Fla., and chief operating officer at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Naples, Fla.

“Susan is a very talented health care leader with a wealth of experience in hospital operations. We are very fortunate to have her on our team,” says QMC President Daniel Knell. “Her knowledge and skill in the areas of market and service line development, physician recruitment, hospital operations and finance will be an asset as Quincy Medical Center continues to expand and improve its services to meet the needs of our ever-changing community.”
