Quincy police are looking for the suspect in an alleged stabbing that occurred at Quincy Shore Drive early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the victim said between midnight and 1 a.m. Wednesday, he was walking around Quincy Shore Drive when a man yelled a racial slur at him.

The victim described the suspect as being a white male in his 30s. He had no facial hair, was of medium build, and was wearing a shirt that said “I Love Beer.” The victim said the suspect appeared intoxicated, police said.

The victim walked up to the suspect and asked him what he said, and the suspect called the victim a racial slur yet again. Then the victim punched the suspect.

The suspect then pulled out a silver butterfly knife and slashed the victim in the stomach, police said.

According to police, the victim returned home and around noon decided to go to Quincy Medical Center because he was concerned about infection on the wound.

Police were called to the hospital and spoke to the victim, who told officers the story. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
