A Quincy man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stealing gold bracelets from a Quincy Center jewelry store.
According to police, a man came in to Rogers Jewelers at around 10:09 a.m. holding a shopping bag with a pillow inside it.

The man told the salesperson that he was going to go to an ATM to get money, and the sales associate turned his back to the suspect. When the employee turned around, an open display case filled with gold bracelets was empty and the suspect had taken off, police said.
The sales associate called police and officers got a description of the man. Shortly after taht, an officer working a detail in Quincy Center spotted a man fitting the suspect’s description.
Police spoke with the suspect and brought the store employee to the scene. The employee positively identified the suspect as the same person who had robbed the store.
Police said they found 13 gold bracelets in the suspect’s possession, five on his wrist.
