Two children and their father were struck by a car while crossing a Quincy street on Saturday, sending all three to the hospital.

According to police, the mother, father, seven-year-old son, and six-year-old daughter had stepped off an MBTA bus near 337 Faxon Ave. on Saturday at approximately 7:46 p.m., and started to cross the street.

After crossing several lanes, three of the pedestrians were struck by a 2012 Buick Regal driven by an 82-year-old Milton man.

The accident sent the seven-year-old boy to Children’s Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said. The father and daughter were also taken to the hospital with less serious injuries.

Quincy Police Captain John Dougan said the driver was not impaired and speed doesn’t appear to be a factor in the accident.

The family was not using a crosswalk.

According to Dougan, no charges have been filed against the driver. The accident is still under investigation by Quincy’s Accident Reconstruction Unit.
