Tristan and Tashina Clarridge and their band The Bee Eaters will be part of the seventh annual A St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Sojourn hosted by WGBH radio host Brian O’Donovan.

The popular concert, this year with two performances, usually sells out and features a variety of Celtic singers, musicians, and dancers. O’Donovan hosts a weekly radio show called A Celtic Sojourn, which airs on Saturday afternoons.

This is the first appearance at the concert for the Clarridges, who are six time Grand National fiddle champions. The band, which also includes Simon Chrisman, a hammer dulcimer player, is currently on tour with it latest album, Oddfellows Road, but is happy to return for the show.

“We’re pretty excited to be part of it,” Tashina Clarridge said. The siblings grew up in California and moved to Boston for the “thriving music scene,” Clarridge said. They have made Roslindale their home for the last five years.

Other performers include Dublin vocalist Susan McKeown, singer Michael Brennock, fiddle virtuoso Jerry Kittel, duo Jefferson Hamer and Eamonn O'Leary, dancer Kieran Jordan, fiddler Tina Lech, uilleann piper Joey Arbata, and flustist/five-string banjoist Mark Roberts, among others.

“St. Patrick’s Day – indeed the whole month of March - is a time for many in the Irish Diaspora to celebrate roots,” said O’Donovan. “For many others, with no ethnic connection whatsoever to the country, it is a time to explore a music and dance culture that is at once sophisticated and accessible, while tracing its origins back hundreds, even thousands of years.”

There are two performances of A St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Sojourn: March 17 at Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford and March 24 at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre in Cambridge. Tickets and information for both shows are available at www.wgbh.org/celtic.
