Following next week’s start of school, the Roslindale Branch Library will reopen on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The library has been closed on Saturdays during the summer.

To mark the occasion, the Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library group is hosting a mini-parade on September 8. Participants will leave from the Farmers’ Market across the street after a 10 a.m. performance by Davey the Clown. At the library, visitors can take a tour, sign up for a library card and, of course, check out books.

Students and families may want to take note that the Roslindale Branch offers afterschool programs and services to nine local schools. In addition, a preschool film program runs on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and a toddler story time is offered every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

For more information, visit the library website or call 617-323-2343.
