Roslindale Village Main Street announced changes to its 20-member board of directors for the year 2013. The working volunteer board is composed of a mix of residents, business owners, and professionals from the community.
The nonprofit says hello to four new members: Deb DeBeneditis, owner of Tonyís Market; Seth Mitchell, from Jack Conway Realty; Mary Perry, from The Cooperative Bank; and Silvana Raguso, owner of Sebastianís. Charlie McCarthy, Luke Moran, Jaime Pullen and Carter Wilkie will retire from the board after serving in various capacities over the years.
Among other duties, the board provides organizational, administrative and financial oversight of Roslindale Village Main Street and helps to raise money for special projects and programs in the neighborhood. In 2012, more than 30 events and promotions were orchestrated through the nonprofit in Roslindale. The group counts a weekly farmers' market, which runs from April through November, as one of its greatest successes, drawing more than 2,000 people a week to the area.
