Roslindale Village Main Street, Boston’s first and oldest Main Street program, announced today that its executive director Stephanie Cave, will step down in February after serving in the position for two years.

“I look fondly upon the past two years and the relationships I've developed with the business owners, volunteers and the community of Roslindale,” said Cave in a newsletter sent out to the community. She explained, “I am planning to take some time to reconnect with my creative side and focus on my sewing business.”

The board of directors started an immediate search to fill the position. The executive director is the only full-time employee of the nonprofit, serving as the primary advocate, manager and producer of local marketing and promotion activities, small-business development assistance, and outreach to businesses and property owners, among other duties.

Cave promised she’d still be involved with community organization. “I look forward to being a part of this as a volunteer and resident.”

The nonprofit has set up a website for anyone interested in learning more about the position or to apply.
