Starting in April, changes will be made to the street-sweeping schedule in parts of Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and Mission Hill.

The changes will not alter street sweeping times, just the days when sweeping takes place.

The alterations are being made to follow the neighborhoods’ residential trash pickup, according to the city's Public Works Department.

Over the winter, the Boston Transportation Department made adjustments to street signs to reflect the changes.

The changes are part of an ongoing effort by the city to, “explore more effective means of basic city service delivery in this challenging fiscal climate.”
