In an attempt to help "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen, members of Salem's witch and warlock community held a "magical intervention" for the actor.
The idea came up when Sheen offended members of Salem's Coven of the Raven Moon by referring to himself as a "Vatican assassin warlock" during a radio interview last week. Sheen has been vocal with the press lately, mainly over the issue of his lifestyle and his cancelled show.
According to Christian Day, a practicing warlock in Salem, Sheen's use of the term associates warlocks with violence and negativity.
"[Warlock] meant a person summoning the spirits of the dead for wisdom," Day said in a telephone interview. "It's a beautiful, positive word."
The intervention involved a "healing circle," which took place at Crow Haven Corner, a witchcraft store on Essex Street yesterday afternoon. Day, along with Lorelei Stathopoulos, a practicing witch who owns the store, and Lori Bruno, lit candles and called on the archangels to help Sheen, Stathopoulos said.
"You do a circle with love in your heart," Stathopoulos said. "He's a wonderful actor... he should be helping the world."
Bruno believed the energy they sent Sheen in the circle could help him in his personal life.
"If we can do this for Mr. Sheen and Mr. Sheen gets in touch with our energy, [then he can] live and enjoy tranquility," Bruno said.
Day said that having the three participate in the circle increased the strength of their spiritual energy.
"There is great spiritual power in the power of three," Day said. "It creates a triangle of power that can do anything."
