The following is a press release from the Salem Chamber of Commerce:
Scratch Kitchen opened its doors in May adding to Salemís reputation as the North Shores best dining scene. Owners Bill and Christine Fogarty are enthusiastic in delivering a quality taste come first dining experience. Bill has been cooking for seventeen years, and is excited about the opportunity to showcase his straight forward yet whimsical style. He has worked in some of Bostonís top kitchens, and is ready to let his creativity and experience shine on the North Shore. Christine although new to the restaurant business is excited to contribute to the success of Scratch Kitchen.
Scratch Kitchenís main focus is providing a dining experience from handmade menu items. Heading the list and a real crowd pleaser is their bacon, but they also have their hands busy making breads, mustard, ketchup, various pickles, soups, smoked meats. Bill and his team try not to make too much fuss about their food except that it tastes good and comes from a good source. They are big supporters of local farms, such as Maitland farm in Salem, and source the majority of their products regionally and as close to Salem as is possible including cheeses, poultry, beef, and the bellies for their bacon.
Scratch Kitchen is centrally located at 245 Derby Street beneath South Harbor Parking Garage at the corner of Derby and Congress Streets in Salem, Massachusetts. Hours of operation are Monday - Wednesday 11 am - 8 pm and Thursday - Saturday 11 am - 10 pm.
