Celtics guard Rajon Rondo and forward Brandon Bass helped promote fun and easy steps for maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle to winning class at Bates Elementary School in Salem on Thursday .

Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo and forward Brandon Bass, along with the Celtics Strength and Conditioning Coach Bryan Doo and mascot Lucky, visited the Bates Elementary School in Salem on Thursday to promote fitness.

The Bates School won the visit through the “Covidien Fit to Win” sweepstakes, which asked students to provide their tips on staying healthy.

A third grade class at Bates submitted the winning entry. As part of the visit, the players and Doo hosted an assembly for the entire school featuring a dunk show by Lucky.  After the assembly Rondo, Bass, Doo and Lucky spoke with the winning class about maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

The group also prepared healthy snacks with the students. Participants in the program received a t-shirt and an autographed “Fit to Win” poster.
