The following was submitted by the city of Salem, Massachusetts:

Calling all Salem businesses! – The Green Salem Business Challenge : Greater Shades of Green survey  is now open on the GSBC website www.northshoretma.org/gsbc.
New this year, the GSBC has created a website with resource tools to help businesses save money and reduce their environmental impact.  It is recommended that businesses review the PDF of this year’s survey prior to completing it online.

Also new this year: a participant list on the GSBC website with live links to businesses that complete the survey.

“We are happy to provide Salem GSBC businesses with opportunities to be recognized for their sustainability efforts, those businesses just starting to incorporate green practices into their business plans, and others that are well along the path.  The GSBC website businesses listing and subsequent recognition ceremony on May 19th are both opportunities for businesses to connect with the Salem community: customers, businesses, and community leaders” states Andrea Leary the  Executive Director of the North Shore Transportation Management Association.

The green business recognition celebration will be held on May 19th at Old Town Hall at 12:00 pm at the Living Green Fair.  Mayor Kimberly Driscoll and Representative John Keenan will present certificates to GSBC businesses.
