Salem police log, July 29-30

The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Sunday and Monday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Sunday, July 29:

5:59 p.m. Police responded to a verbal disagreement in the street at the corner of Loring Avenue and Vinnin Street.

6:17 p.m. Police responded to 7 North Pine Street when a resident reported finding a motorcycle parked in his lot with a tarp over it. The resident related that it had been there a few days and no one knew who it belonged to. Earlier today a gray mini van with no plates backed into the lot and two Hispanic males tried to put the bike in, but it did not fit and they left. Police ran the plates and it came back reported stolen on July 27. The only apparent damage was cut wires, and it was returned to the owner. No suspects at this time.

6:34 p.m. Police responded to a possible break-in at an old chapel at Greenlawn Cemetery. A bulkhead door was pried open.

Monday, July 30:

12:13 a.m. Police responded to a noise complaint at 190 Bridge Street. As a result, Brittney Janard was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol, and assault and battery on a police officer, and disturbing the peace, Nathaniel Jacobs was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol, disturbing the peace, and assault and battery on a police officer, Tyler Cook was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol and disorderly conduct, and 14 people were issued citations for being minors in possession of alcohol.

3:00 a.m. Police responded to a one car accident on Loring Avenue. The driver, Christina Conti, states she may have fallen asleep at the wheel. She will be summonsed for operating with a suspended license, speeding in a residential area, marked lanes violation, operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger.

1:08 p.m. A scooter parked at 162 North Street had part of its ignition stolen.

Arrests:

Nickolette Canatselos, homeless, was arrested on the basis of a warrant out of Lawrence.

Christopher Sbonik, of 113 Boston Street, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without being licensed, passing where prohibited, operating a motor vehicle negligently to endanger.

Tobias Allendorph, of 21 Osborne Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Tyler Cook, of 2 Friend Street, was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol and disorderly conduct.

Nathaniel Jacobs, of 38 Orne Street, was arrested for minor in possession of alcohol, disturbing the peace, and assault and battery on a police officer.
