The following was submitted by Jennifer Bell, main streets manager at Salem Main Streets:

Salem's annual Night Out Restaurant Sampler event is back on Monday, August 6, from 5 - 7 p.m. Join City Council President and Senate candidate Joan Lovely on a tour of three of Salem's hot dining spots: Rockafellas, 43 Church, and 62 Restaurant & Wine Bar.

The event - part of Salem Heritage Days - gives residents a unique opportunity to spend time with Salem's City Council president and a chance to explore and enjoy tasty hors d'oeuvres from a few of Salem's popular restaurants.

Pre-registration is required. Admission is $20 to participate and the proceeds benefit Salem Main Streets, a non-profit organization with the goal of revitalizing downtown Salem as a vibrant, year-round retail, dining and cultural destination.

Salem's Night Out will start at Rockafellas in the center of historic downtown Salem from 5 - 5:30 p.m. The restaurant is known for their live entertainment and casual dining experience.

The next stop on the sampler tour is 43 Church Steakhouse & Wine Bar - popular for serving fine steak and fresh seafood - at 43 Church Street, from 5:45 - 6:15 p.m.

The final stop is 62 Restaurant & Wine Bar at 6:30 p.m. on Salem's historic Derby Wharf (62 Wharf Street), a spot recognized for its modern take on Italian cuisine.

For more information and to pre-register, contact the Salem Chamber of Commerce, or Salem Main Streets at (978) 744-0004 and jennifer@salemmainstreets.org.
