Salem police log, August 27-28

The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Monday and Tuesday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

Monday, August 27:

4:18 p.m. Police responded to a road rage incident that began on Bridge Street and continued down North Street and onto Essex Street. Both parties advised.

5:21 p.m. Police responded to a report of a suspicious male going door to door on Heritage Drive saying he worked for Comcast. No party fitting description was located.

10:21 p.m. Police responded to a report of a man down on Salem Common. John Andress was found to be highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself. For his and the public's safety he was taken into protective custody.

Tuesday, August 28:

12:46 a.m. Police responded to a report of a skunk on Sunset Road with a cup on its head.

1:52 a.m. Police responded to Restaurant Row on a report of man yelling for help. He was not found upon arrival, but two older males told police they saw an intoxicated man in the area running around screaming and that he had walked up Memorial Drive. Officers approached a man staggering up Memorial Drive and asked if he had been yelling in the area of the Willows, to which he said he had not been. He denied being assaulted or in any disputes. He then stated that he had been propositioned by a younger male near the Willows, who also threatened him. He then stated it wasn't a younger male, but two younger males who approached and propositioned him, then the story changed to two elderly males. He had a scrape on his hand but no evidence of an assault. He was placed into protective custody.

5:50 a.m. Police responded to a report of larceny from a home on Osborne Street.

9:23 a.m. Police responded to a report of burglary at a home on High Street.

10:44 a.m. Police responded to a report of larceny from a motor vehicle on Salem Street. Reporting party stated he started his BMW in front of his home and then went back in to retrieve something. When he returned, he found someone had taken the keys. He was advised to disable the car until he can have a new key made.

2:01 p.m. Police responded to a residence on Lafayette Street for a report of a possible domestic disturbance. After several knocks at the door two parties answered the door and stated that there was no problem, that they were making passionate love and that was the reason for the loud noises.

2:39 p.m. Police responded to a report of a car jacking at Grove and Goodhue Streets.

Arrests:

Jonathan L. Benson, of 56 Margin Street, was arrested for trespassing.

Desiree D. Lucius, of 8 Cherry Street, was arrested for trespassing.

Victor J. Mariscal, of 4 Shurtleff Street, Chelsea, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Rolando E. Estrella, of 2 Harding Street, Andover, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Nadia Shah, of 81 Lake View Avenue, Lynn, was arrested for larceny by single scheme over $250.
