Salem weekend police log

The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Saturday and Sunday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

Saturday, August 18:

12:19 a.m. Police responded to a report of a fight on Bridge Street. Upon arrival a man was laid out and a large group was breaking up a fight. One under arrest, one taken into protective custody for intoxication.

12:58 a.m. Police responded to a report of a fight on Washington Street. One under arrest for disorderly conduct. Person taken into custody was part of a large crowd (about 100 people) that was involved in a disturbance.

8:39 a.m. Police responded to North Street for a report of damage to a motor vehicle (scratches on the driver's side front and rear doors).

12:00 p.m. Police responded to a four-car accident on Boston Street. Iriselis Vittini reported minor injury, was transported to Salem Hospital, and will be summonsed for expired license and operating an uninsured vehicle. Another operator cited for following too closely.

5:05 p.m. A man walked into the police station to report his cell phone stolen out of his unlocked vehicle while it was parked for about an hour on the corner of Essex and Crombie streets.

9:27 p.m. A woman reported that her home on Rainbow Terrace was broken into the night before. When she arrived home she found that her desk and closet appeared to have been rummaged through. There is no damage to the property and she is unsure of what is missing at this time.

11:30 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle fire on Bridge Street. Upon arrival, a 1996 Volvo 850 was fully engulfed in flames. Salem Fire Department arrived and quickly extinguished it.

Sunday, August 19:

1:52 a.m. Police responded to Front Street for a report of a past assault. After an investigation, a warrant will be sought for Reford Watkins for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery intimidation race, color, etc.

2:12 a.m. Police responded to a burglary on Henry Street. At some point between 11:15 p.m. and 1:15 a.m. someone entered the house through the backdoor, which was unlocked, and stole numerous items from a downstairs bedroom.

2:36 a.m. Police responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle on Webb Street. Semra Murkic arrested for larceny of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation.

Arrests:

Eric Waldo Banks, of 265 Cabot Street, Beverly, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Calvin Antonio Crowder, of 20 Neptune Boulevard, Lynn, was arrested for disorderly conduct.

David A. Duchesne Jr., of 43 Federal Street, was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and battery, attempted murder, and intimidation of a witness.

Robert L. Hill, of 7 Northern Avenue, Lynn, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, and red light or stop sign violation.

Shannon E. Kavanaugh, of 11 Spring Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Ryan Daniel Burke, of 5 Skerry Street, was arrested for disturbing the peace.

Paul Edwin Gordon, of 56 River Street, Beverly, was arrested for violation of the city knife ordinance.
