Salem police log, Sept. 11-12
The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Tuesday and Wednesday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:
Tuesday, Sept. 11:
1:58 a.m. Police responded to a report of tables stolen from the Walmart on Highland Avenue.
7:42 a.m. Police responded to a report of vandalism to a car on Geneva Street.
11:41 a.m. Police responded to a hit and run on Hazel Street.
4:28 p.m. Police responded to the Salem District Court on a report of a drunk in the lobby. Court officers turned over a man who was placed into protective custody.
6:00 p.m. Police took a report of past assaults on Essex Street.
9:37 p.m. Police responded to a report of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. A woman returned to her car on the first floor of the East India Parking Garage and found that the driver's side window had been smashed and her GPS stolen from the dashboard.
Wednesday, Sept. 12:
2:33 a.m. Police responded to a report of assault at North Shore Medical Center. An EMT reported being slapped in the face by an intoxicated party while entering the emergency room area.
10:04 a.m. Police responded to a report of a car that struck a fence in the parking lot at Bagel World on Canal Street. The driver reported that while trying to park he was applying his brakes there was no response. A noticeable trail of fluid, consistent with a snapped brakeline, could be seen coming from the underside of the car as it was towed away.
10:53 a.m. A party on Salem Street reported that sugar had been poured into the gas tank of his motor vehicle sometime overnight.
3:41 p.m. Police responded to a report of shoplifting at CVS on Highland Avenue.
Arrests:
Calvin B. Freeman, of 26 Cummings Highway, Mattapan, will be charged with violation of a protective order.
James Benjamin Green, of 21 Wave Street, Lynn, will be charged with operating a motor vehicle after license suspension.
Sarah A. McCarthy, of 21 Mace Place, Lynn, was arrested on the basis of three warrants, and will also be charged with driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, attaching plates to a motor vehicle, driving without an inspection sticker, and receiving stolen property $250 or less.
Jamey J. Pszenny, of 16 Sayward Street, Gloucester, will be charged with illegal possession of a Class A substance and illegal possession of a Class B substance.
Melissa Shaktman, of 44 Butler Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
Patrick T. Tarmey, of 8133 Crane Brook Way, Peabody, will be charged with disorderly conduct.
Melissa L. Thyne, of 55 Buffum Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
Christopher G. Dunston, of 10 First Street, will be charged with forgery, uttering, and larceny of property $250 or less.
Brian Douglas Foster, of 14 Lamplighter Drive, Nashua, NH, will be charged with violating the city knife ordinance.
