The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Wednesday and Thursday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:
Wednesday, September 5:
4:55 p.m. Police responded to a hit and run with property damage on Bridge Street.
5:04 p.m. A pedestrian was hit by a motor vehicle in a parking lot on Mason Street. No tows or citations issued.
5:51 p.m. Police responded to Highland Avenue for a disturbance in a store. Two parties reported that a young Asian female scratched one of their son's on the neck and slapped one of their daughter's on the head. Officer did observe scratches on the neck of one alleged victim. Investigation to continue.
6:38 p.m. Police responded to an attempted breaking and entering on First Street.
9:21 p.m. Police responded to Franklin Street on a report of youths in a junkyard. After an investigation, five parties were arrested for trespassing.
9:59 p.m. Police responded to a report of larceny at Taco Bell on Highland Avenue. On arrival, officers spoke with two employees who reported a change jar stolen and related that it was for donations to a local charity.
Thursday, September 6:
9:51 a.m. Police took a report of an assault on Congress Street late Wednesday night.
10:28 a.m. Police responded to a report of larceny at Market Basket on Highland Avenue. A male party was served a no trespass order after employees observed him put two packages of Gillette Fusion razors valued at $27.98 in his pocket.
10:46 a.m. Police responded to a report of women chasing a bird in the street on Leggs Hill Road.
1:31 p.m. Police removed a hypodermic needle found on Washington Street near Dodge Street.
1:32 p.m. Police removed two hypodermic needles from the parking lot of Wendy's on Lafayette Street.
4:01 p.m. Police responded to a fight near the area School Street and Buffum Street.
4:21 p.m. Police responded to a report of assault on Salem Street.
Erik J. Barnett, of 23 May Street, will be charged with disorderly conduct.
Eric T. Barras, of 15 Thomas Road, Lynnfield, will be charged with trespassing.
Daniel M. Dukette, of 18 Crombie Street, will be charged with trespassing.
Douglas M. Felix, of 5 Pond Street, will be charged with trespassing.
Tyler M. Ferrier, of 385 Andover Street, Danvers, will be charged with trespassing.
Kaitlyn M. Mills, of 3 Watson Street, will be charged with trespassing.
Andrew J. Balboni, of 87 Leach Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
